Most homeowners replace their windows to conserve energy and reduce heating and cooling costs. Considering the fact that glass makes up over 80% of a window, and that the glass dictates how that window will perform, it is important to choose the right glass package for your climate.

In northern climates, most of our energy dollars are spent in heating our homes. So, the more we can do to keep the heat inside, the lower our heating bills will be. However, to reduce those bills even more, we need to allow for more free solar heat gain, like the kind we get from direct sunlight. But, we do not want to allow in the damaging UV rays that fade carpets, draperies and upholstery. An ideal glass package would be one that provides more free solar heat gain, combined with the ability to hold heat in with higher insulation values, and block harmful UV rays.

The E3-Max® Glass System from the Park Avenue® Window Collection is made exclusively for the extreme winters and summers we experience every year. This triple pane glass system combines two lites of Soft Coat LoE2 glass and a center lite of Annealed Float Glass in a 13/16" insulating glass unit. The twin chambers of glass are then charged with Krypton Gas for superior insulation. Finally, these three lites of glass are enclosed with today's most advanced Ultimate Warm-Edge Technology. This unique all-foam spacer system with a unique dual-seal design resists condensation on your window surface, thereby reducing your energy costs while adding comfort and value to your home.

E3-Max® Glass boasts an increased Center of Glass R-Value of (9). R-Value measures the resistance to heat gain or loss. The larger the number, the better the window's resistance to heat flow. This glass system allows for controlled levels of free solar heat gain in the winter, while providing the insulation ability of an increased R-Value. As a result, E3-Max® Glass keeps the re-radiated heat and warmth from escaping your home to the outside, thereby reducing your heating costs. Furthermore, E3-Max® Glass blocks 95% of damaging UV rays. Homeowners can rest assured this glass system has been tested according to the National Fenestration Rating Council's (NFRC) strict standards and performs to levels that are ENERGY STAR® compliant in all four climate regions of the United States.
